The Institutional Biobank of Lausanne (BIL) is a core facility offering sample collection services, advices and support on all essential steps to create and manage a biobank.

The overall BIL objective is to prepare Lausanne for the future genomic medicine by creating a genomic Bioresource. On the other hand, BIL wants to develop a coordination platform for research on humans at the CHUV.

Specific goals

  1. Establishment of a general consent for BIL, but also applicable to other research projects on human biological material.

  2. Implementation of a blood sampling process and storage (DNA, plasma) from consenting patients

  3. Registration of all CHUV biobanks through a regulation model

  4. Launch specific research projects with the BIL’s help.
