UMR and the Romand Network

The UMR in the light of a Romand Network for Medically Assisted Procreation

Since September 2005, the activities of the UMR are placed in the light of the Romand Network.  In concrete, this entails that identical medical treatment protocols will be used both at the UMR-CHUV (Lausanne) and HUG (Geneva).  In so doing allows the doctors whom are part of the Network, to apply the same stimulation treatments and leave the choice to the patients to undergo assisted procreation (FIV punction and embryo transfer) on the site of their choice (CHUV or HUG).

The doctor from the Network, can follow patients either completely or partly prior to in vitro fecundation at CHUV.  The participants in this Network have accepted CHUV’s rules of quality control; they practice same protocols and approve the initial philosophy.

Once pregnancy is established, the patient can return to her regular doctor who will take care of the monitoring and assist with birth giving.
