This information concerns all of the Internet sites of Vaud University Hospital Centre (CHUV).

Limitation of liability

The information provided on all of the Internet sites of the CHUV is intended to improve and not to replace the relationship which exists between the patient or visitor to the site and the healthcare professional.

Although it makes great efforts to ensure the accuracy of the information conveyed on these sites, the CHUV cannot be held liable for the fidelity, accuracy, topicality, reliability and complete nature of such information.

The CHUV expressly reserves the right to amend the contents of these sites in whole or in part, to delete them or temporarily suspend their circulation, and may do so at any time without prior warning.

The CHUV cannot be held liable for material or intangible damage which may be caused by access to the information that is circulated or by its use or non-use, inappropriate use of the connection or by technical problems.

The references and links to other Internet sites are provided for information only; the content, form and services provided by these sites fall under the entire responsibility of their authors. Access to these sites and their use are effected at the risk of the persons who consult them.

Data protection

Article 13 of the Federal Constitution of the Swiss Confederation and the data protection laws stipulate that every individual is entitled to the protection of his or her privacy and to protection against unlawful use of his or her own personal data. The CHUV complies stringently with these provisions.

Personal data are treated in confidence and are neither sold nor disclosed to any third parties.

The CHUV uses its best endeavours to protect its databases against external intrusions, losses, unauthorized use and falsification.

No personal data are recorded when accessing the home page. The CHUV’s Internet server only records non-personal statistical data on use with a view to analyzing visitors’ assessment of the quality of its information (files, journals). Data on use are therefore not associated with personal data.

However, these rules do not apply to contacts established voluntarily. When a visitor’s electronic address is registered, it is stored in a separate database which has no link to the anonymized record files. The visitor may cancel his registration at any time.

E-mail addresses or other details enabling persons to be identified are not under any circumstances disclosed to entities outside the CHUV. Only the site webmaster retains the e-mails received by the site. On the other hand, any complaint expressed by this means will be forwarded to the Legal Affairs Unit and to the service concerned for further action.
