INFECTIGEN | Association for the study of infection genetics
Association pour l’étude de la génétique des Infections
Infectigen brings together members of the scientific community of the Lemanic region with an interest on host and pathogen genetics and genomics. Infectigen receives funding from the Leenaards Foundation and the Jeantet Foundation.
Direction:
Amalio TELENTI Institute of Microbiology / CHUV / UNIL – President
Didier TRONO School of Life Sciences / EPFL
Stylianos ANTONARAKIS Medical Genetics & Development / UNIGE
Jacques SCHRENZEL Laboratory of Bacteriology and Genomics / HCUG
Philippe MOREILLON Dpt of Fundamental Microbiology / UNIL
Technical Platforms: Infectigen supports the high-throughput genotyping platform at the “Frontiers in Genetics” genomics facility in Geneva.
Call for Proposals: Infectigen funds innovative interdisciplinary research in the following fields:
- Pathogen genome analysis, new genomes.
- Human whole genome association analysis in the investigation of human susceptibility to infectious diseases.
- Large-scale pharmacogenetic analyses of anti-infective agents.
- Development of bioinformatic, statistical, mathematical and bio-engineering tools and solutions for the analysis of genomes, and genome scans/association analysis data.
- Evolutionary genetics and genomics, co-evolution of host and pathogen genes.
Funding level: Funding is provided for one year, and up to CHF 100'000 (seed funds).
Five projects awarded by infectigen for the year 2009
