Diagnostic activity

The diagnostic section of the Institute of Microbiology carries a broad spectrum of in vitro diagnostic tests in the area of bacteriology, mycobacteriology, mycology, parasitology, serology and virology. Molecular diagnostics covering the whole spectrum of microbiology has been consolidated in our molecular diagnostic laboratory.

The diagnostic section comprises 8 academic specialists, 2 head technicians and 34 technicians. Training to FAMH candidates is provided on a regular basis.

In addition to its routine tasks, the Institute is active in Research and Development, Professional Teaching, and provides Specialized Diagnostics.
