Research and development in diagnostics

The Institute of Microbiology regularly evaluates new commercial tests and develops new assays, in particular in the growing area of molecular diagnosis of infectious diseases. It participates also to multicentric studies of antimicrobial resistance surveillance (Sentry, Protekt, Search), serves as a reference laboratory for the EORTC antimicrobial group, for the Swiss Funginos Network, and acts as the Swiss National Listeria Reference Center.
