He is using complementary approaches combining in vitro work performed in neuronal cell cultures with a systems biology approach, conducting in parallel in vivo experiments in animal models and clinical investigation in the human. His research projects include the elucidation of the alterations occurring in the regulation of the neuroendocrine reproductive axis during the early stages of weight gain in humans, as well as the description of the hypothalamic mechanisms underlying those changes.
His clinical practice covers the spectrum of endocrine and metabolic diseases, including the work up and treatment of severe obesity. He also has a strong expertise in all aspects of endocrine oncology, including pituitary pathologies and gastro-intestinal endocrine tumours.
