Our research aims at improving the understanding of nervous system disorders and developing new treatments and diagnostical tools.

Research

Research topics

Our principal research topics in Neuroscience are cerebral plasticity, the auditory cortex, multisensory interactions and language processing.

We use several complementary methods in our studies:

  • neuroimaging (such as electroencephalography (EEG), functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI), and diffusion tensor and diffusion spectrum imaging (DTI and DSI),
  • post-mortem brain anatomy,
  • clinical approaches with brain damaged patients,
  • behavioral methods.

Current studies

We are a multidisciplinary group with extensive connections with the Lemanic Neuroscience Doctoral program (which brings together the University of Lausanne (UNIL), the University of Geneva (UNIGE) and the Federal Institute of Technology Lausanne (EPFL). We have developed several fruitful collaborations with other research labs from the Lemanic area.
