Neuroscience Research Centre

Created in January 2014, the Center for Research in Neuroscience (CRN) of the Department of Clinical Neurosciences of the CHUV establishes a world-class center for Clinical and Basic Neuroscience Research. The CRN, directed by Prof. Nicole Déglon, groups 14 laboratories and research units with the department, and is strongly interlinked with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of UNIL.

Fostering advances in brain research ranging from immunology to imaging, from genetics to rehabilitation and to memory, the Center’s mission is to establish a truly interdisciplinary approach to neuroscience research - merging disciplines and translating breakthroughs from the lab to improved patient care.

At the heart of its interdisciplinary approach, the CRN links the research and resources of the three clinical services within the department (Neurology, Neurosurgery, Neuropsychology and Neurorehabilitation) and the Leenards Memory Center. The CRN additionally benefits from an exceptional research environment within the Geneva-Lausanne axis, which in the past decade has experienced a remarkable growth and is today considered one of Europe's leading centers for neuroscience.

All the publications of the researchers of the Neurosciences Research Centre can be consulted in the Unisciences database of the University of Lausanne.
