The MIP Symposium & Stakeholders Workshop : April 24-25th
The Medical Informatics Platform (MIP) is one of the most ambitious infrastructure developed in the framework of the EU-founded flagship Human Brain Project.
Currently being deployed in several European hospitals – including France, Italy, Germany and Switzerland – the MIP aims to support federated analysis of vast health-related datasets with a particular focus on neurodegenerative diseases, epilepsy and TBI, among others. Yet, this program is not the only innovative endeavours that combines (big) data science and neuroscience.
A number of other initiatives and programs have been developed over the recent years such as ENIGMA, EMIF and other EU-founded projects in the framework of public-private partnership (e.g. as the Innovative Medicine Initiative (IMI)).
This conference will highlight some of these major programs in order to identify possible future synergies and collaborations with the MIP, as they appear to be more complementary approaches than competing projects. We believe that this endeavour takes place at the right scientific moment where clinical approaches to brain diseases can benefit from advances in personalized medicine and artificial intelligence.
