The experimental vaccines being investigated in our clinical trials have previously been tested in several preclinical studies (on animals) to ensure their non-toxicity. However, there is no such thing as zero risk. Potential risks and side effects will be clearly exposed to you during information sessions, and in the informed consent form. It is important to note that it is NOT POSSIBLE to become infected due to vaccination with our experimental vaccines.
Clinical research is conducted under very strict and regulated ethics standards (e.g Helsinki Declaration and European Directive of April 4th, 2001). Before initiating a clinical study, the protocol must be approved by the Ethics Committee, which is composed of physicians, lawyers and experts on ethics concerning experimentation on human beings. The study must also be approved by the by the competent health authorities (Swissmedic for Switzerland, the Food and Drug Administration(FDA) for studies run in the US or with an US sponsor).
