High-resolution 3D CMR techniques

The CRMC benefits from the privilege to closely collaborate with the CIBM-CHUV (Head: Prof. M. Stuber). In this collaboration a novel “self-navigation” technique is under development to control for respiratory motion and thus, to visualize the coronary arteries with high spatial resolution (Piccini, Radiology 2014).

Two SNF grants are linked to this collaboration (PI: M. Stuber, Co-PI: J. Schwitter “coronary artery imaging” and PI: R. Hullin, Co-PI: M. Stuber, and J. Schwitter “edema detection in heart transplantation”).

Future research applications include combination with tissue characterization to assess and plan interventions in congenital heart diseases (P. Monney, JCMR 2014) or in electro-physiology (P. Bhagirath, Circulation-Arrh-Electropysiol, 2015).
