Research

The Service and Main Laboratory of Haematology of the Lausanne University Hospital and the University of Lausanne conducts its research under the guidance of faculty investigators: Pr Holger Auner, Pr Lorenzo Alberio, Pre Olaia Naveiras, Pre Rufer and Pre Arber. It employs a scientific staff including researchers, graduate students and technicians.

The studies seek to understand life processes in the area of haematology that, when disturbed, lead to disorders. They focus within 5 fields of investigation:

• Haematopoiesis
• Haematological malignancies and transplantation
• Haemostasis and thrombosis
• Response to inflammation
• Cell therapies

Our service also takes part in numerous clinical trials.
