Cancer research has shown that tumors are complex ecosystems where cancer cells interact dynamically with surrounding healthy cells, molecules, and blood vessels. These interactions—known as the tumor microenvironment (TME)—play a key role in how cancer develops and responds to treatment.
Our project, funded by the Swiss National Fund, aims to advance cancer diagnostics and therapy by using cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) to better understand this complex interplay within the TME. By leveraging spatial omics technologies, which map molecular data at the single-cell level, we will develop interpretable AI models that capture this complexity. Our AI algorithms will help predict clinical endpoints and identify spatial biomarkers of clinical importance.
Our technologies will turn complex biological data into actionable insights—paving the way for precision oncology and improved patient care.
