The Biomedical Data Science Center at CHUV brings together clinicians, data scientists, and researchers to advance biomedical research through data science and AI. We welcome motivated candidates at all career stages to join our growing and collaborative environment.
We currently have the following open positions:
Please check back regularly, as opportunities are updated throughout the year.
Our faculty members regularly recruit PhD students through the Quantitative Biology Program at UNIL. In addition, some group leaders also recruit PhD students through EPFL. Interested candidates are encouraged to explore the research interests of our faculty and reach out directly to potential supervisors.
We welcome Master’s students from UNIL and EPFL who are interested in conducting research projects or thesis work within the BDSC. Opportunities vary by group and research focus.
Our groups regularly recruit interns at various levels of training. Internship opportunities depend on the needs and availability of individual labs. Please contact the faculty members whose research aligns with your interests for more information.
Current postdoctoral openings are listed above or on the CHUV website. However, even if no position is currently advertised, we strongly encourage interested applicants to contact individual faculty members directly. Our group leaders are often open to hosting postdoctoral researchers when there is a strong alignment of interests.
The BDSC welcomes researchers in Data Science & AI who are interested in developing an independent research program through external funding schemes.
If you are considering applying for an externally funded position at the BDSC, please contact the group leaders whose research best aligns with your proposal. We recommend reaching out at least two months before the funding deadline.
If the center decides to support the application, we commit to providing:
While the BDSC does not operate wet labs, we maintain strong collaborations that can be leveraged to generate new experimental data when needed.
Several funding schemes are particularly relevant for independent researchers. As funding programs are regularly updated, please verify the current eligibility criteria and deadlines for each, and consider exploring additional opportunities beyond those listed here.
