Université de Lausanne

The Biomedical Data Science Centre (BDSC) develops cutting-edge data science and artificial intelligence solutions to support biomedical research. Our goal is to accelerate medical discoveries, deepen understanding of diseases, and improve treatments — ultimately enhancing patient care.

Led by Raphael Gottardo, the BDSC brings together four expert teams combining knowledge in mathematics, statistics, computer science and physics to drive innovation in healthcare.

Established in 2021, it was created to help the Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) integrate data science and AI into clinical practice, promoting more effective, collaborative, and patient-focused medicine.
