Curriculum Vitae - intérêts de recherche

Dr. Carra is an expert in applied artificial intelligence for healthcare. She graduated in Biomedical Engineering at the Polythecnic of Turin, Italy. Afterwards, she pursued her interest in digital innovation with a PhD in Artificial Intelligence (AI) for decision support and treatment optimization at KU Leuven University, Belgium. Her PhD thesis in the field of AI in the intensive care unit (ICU) won the 2022 Belgian SIZ prize for best research in the field. During her PhD, Dr. Carra developed a keen interest in the translation of AI-research solutions at the bedside, which she is still following with passion and enthusiasm.

Currently, she works as Senior Data Scientist at CHUV in a joined position between the Department of Infectious Diseases and the Biomedical Data Science Center, the objective of this multidisciplinary collaboration is to advance the digitalization process of healthcare and disease understanding through AI-driven cutting hedge research.
