‘To die from other people’s gaze’ :   women living with HIV in Switzerland and their experiences of stigma and discrimination

Sociologist Vanessa Fargnoli presents the results of her research into a group which is largely invisible, both in the scientific literature and in the popular imagination : women who live with HIV without belonging to groups considered to be ‘at risk’ of contracting it. When considerd in the context of the other presentations during this conference, in what ways do their experiences of HIV-related stigmatisation and discrimination differ from, or on the contrary resemble, those of other people living with HIV ?
