Introduction to the conference ¦ HIV-related stigma: a thing of the past ?

Project coordinator at the ‘Antenne’ of the Infectious Diseases Department,at the University Hospital of Lausanne, David Jackson-Perry has been living with HIV for several decades. Here he takes as a starting point his personal and professional experience of HIV-related stigma and discrimination to ask how and why this stigma persists, and to highlight some of the issues which will be explored by the presenters at this conference.

David Jackson-Perry est coordinateur de projets à l’Antenne de la consultation des maladies infectieuses du CHUV. Vivant avec le VIH depuis plusieurs décennies, il s’appuie ici sur son expérience à la fois personnelle et professionnelle pour introduire cette conférence et mettre en exergue les enjeux de la stigmatisation et de la discrimination liées au VIH qui seront explorées tout au long des présentations qui suivent.
