The Neurorehab Research Center, located at the Lavigny hospital, constitutes the research axes of the future SUN, Service Universitaire en Neurorehabilitation. Its objective is to promote and facilitate innovation in the domain of neurorehabilitation by integrating fundamental and translational research, clinical activities and novel technologies to maximize patient recovery. The Center offers training to students, researchers and healthcare professionals and collaborates with industrial partners to achieve its goals.
The Neuroscape Facility implements novel gamified technological approaches for the assessment and rehabilitation of cognitive function and behavior in neurological patients. The Facility is equipped with virtual reality devices, a driving simulator, an immersive giant screen, whole-body tracking, high-end computers and wearable physiological sensors. Randomized controlled trials address stroke, traumatic brain injury, early dementia, Neuro-HIV, and multiple sclerosis.
The main goal of MySpace lab is understanding how the human brain builds a representation of the body in space, important for action and perception. To this aim, we use different techniques from cognitive neuroscience, including psychophysics, fMRI, intracranial EEG recording, neuropsychology and neural network modeling to study the multisensory mechanisms of underlying the representation of Peripersonal Space (PPS).
