Emeline is a Biomedical Data Research Scientist with a PhD in Neuroscience (Connectomics Lab, CHUV/EPFL/UNIL) and an MSc in Engineering (Centrale Marseille). Her work spans multimodal neuroimaging — MRI, EEG, and fNIRS — combining signal processing, statistics, machine learning, and graph theory to study brain structure, function, and connectivity across clinical and healthy populations. She has worked across academic and applied research settings, from PhD and postdoctoral research to industry, and is especially motivated by teaching, training, and knowledge transfer.
Yasser Alemán Gómez's research focuses on developing innovative, sensitive brain biomarkers. To that end he combines in vivo magnetic resonance imaging across modalities — T1-weighted, diffusion and functional MRI. Translational science is an overarching goal of the group, so he contributes to the development of easy-to-use image processing strategies that provide morphometric tools for accurate tracking of in vivo, MRI-based brain changes.
I'm a PhD student in the Connectomics lab. My work focuses on integrating connectomes into EEG source reconstruction, to decode real-time brain activity using the brain's structural connections. My path started in high school with a fascination for neuroscience, leading me to a Bioengineering degree at EPFL. I combine mathematics, physics, and machine learning to tackle complex neuroscience problems. Currently, I'm applying this to hospital data on individuals with epilepsy, with real clinical relevance close at hand.
I am a PhD candidate at the Lemanic Neuroscience Doctoral School, jointly affiliated with the Microstructure Mapping Lab and Connectomics Lab. Originally from Tehran, Iran, I hold a BSc in Physics from Alzahra University and a Master’s in Neuroscience from the University of Geneva. While my Master's research focused on computational approaches to Alzheimer’s disease, my current PhD work utilizes connectomics and diffusion MRI to map microstructure and conduction properties, aiming to build a novel microstructural brain atlas and to further explore the relationship between microstructure and function in brain white matter.
