Endometriosis - Adenomyosis

Endometriosis is a common gynaecological disease, which is often painful and progressive. It is manifested in very varied symptoms so that its diagnosis is sometimes difficult and delayed. It indicates the abnormal presence of endometrial cells (the tissue which lines the inside of the uterus and which is shed during the process of menstruation) outside the uterine cavity. These cells become implanted on other organs, where they grow and finally cause damage.

Endometriosis affects about 10 to 15% of women of childbearing age, with 25 to 40% of patients having chronic pelvic pain and about 50% of patients being infertile.

The treatment of endometriosis depends greatly on the symptoms, the affected organs and whether the patient wants to have children. If the patient is seeking treatment for pain but does not want to have a child, we can offer medical or surgical treatment.
