Basic semen analysis

Semen analysis is the principal medical examination performed when assessing infertility in men. Using microscopy methods, it measures parameters such as the concentration, mobility and morphology of spermatozoids in the ejaculate.

Collection

The sperm is collected in a sterile container by masturbation in rooms provided for this purpose in the laboratory.

Conditions

Abstinence for two to four days before the examination is recommended.
