Research Interests

Professor Manuel Lemos is a Clinical Endocrinologist with a special interest in the molecular genetics of endocrine diseases. His research projects include studies of hereditary endocrine disorders and genetic susceptibility studies of common endocrine disorders such as type 1 diabetes and thyroid cancer. He is the coordinator of a nationwide multicentric research project to elucidate the molecular basis and phenotypic spectrum of Portuguese patients with congenital pituitary hormone deficiencies, including patients with GnRH deficiency.
